Sydney

Monday, Dec. 8

Today I had arranged to play golf with my brother Andrew. I was picked up and delivered to golf course. I’ll have to find out from bro the name and the name of the suckers… oops. I mean golfers that joined us for an excellent round. Came in after the 9th and it poured down. After a couple of beers the weather cleared and we returned to the course to complete our 18. I think I shot around 62. Sorry, that was the first nine, I mean 122.

Tuesday, Dec. 9

Andrew and I went to the pictures to see the new James Bond. Neither of us rated this as high as Casino Royal but we both agreed the action was good.
Afterwards I returned to Newtown and went for Thai with Jude and Danielle. Excellent fair.

Wednesday, Dec. 10

We caught the train back to Bowral where we dined again with Ron and Sheila before preparing for our departure tomorrow.

Sunday, Dec. 7

We visited Ian and Idalea to check out their new house. They only moved in a couple of weeks ago, but have spent some months renovating and it shows - the house is looking good.

Back to Jude and Danielle’s for a Danielle special roast beef (complete with Yorkshire Pudding). No photo’s sorry, too full.

Hunter's Hill Hotel

Friday, Dec. 5
We set off to the Hunter’s Hill Hotel, near Lane Cove, where we were catching up with another of Sally’s cousins, Ian and Idalea. There we enjoyed a counter meal and them some serious pool upstairs. Needless to say, the Territorians emerged triumphant.

This afternoon we returned to Bob and Annie’s where we ventured out to the AB Hotel in Glebe and then back to their place so the girls could catch up from where they left off on Wednesday.

Star Wars at the Power House Museum

Thursday, Dec. 4

We caught up with my brother Andrew outside Paddy’s Market and then off to the Power House Museum to see the Star Wars Exhibit. This was great as there were lots of original costumes and models although, Sally got more involved with the interactive exhibits. The display was far more involved with the science of robotics and the like and not with the story.

Storm Trooper and Sand Person

Afterwoods we were off to Newtown to spend a couple of nights with Sally’s cousin Jude and Danielle. Naturally we hit the pub for dinner and then more catching up.

Sydney

Wednesday, Dec. 3

We took the train from Bowral to Sydney Central and then the Light Rail to Glebe where we had arranged to stay with Bob and Annie. Annie is another ex-pat Darwinite and an old friend of Sally’s (since before electricity). They whipped up a lamb curry and from there, a few after dinner drinks. Bob and I piked out early but we believe the girls were up until around 3:30am catching up.
