Barmah State Forest

Monday, Jan. 5

We drove through Rutherglen heading towards the Barmah State Forest in Northern Victoria. After a bite to eat and some research by Mike into the forest, we followed the track to Ulupna Island and located a great beach campsite along the Murray River.

We found ourselves camped smack bang in the middle of a Koala Colony. The nights were complete with the grunting of Koala’s and the rustle of the like migrating from tree to tree.

Tuesday, Jan. 6

We had decided to spend 3 nights at this spectacular part of Australia spending the day wandering around checking out the island. Neddless to say, we spotted more Koalas.

Wednesday, Jan. 7

Lots more relaxing and swimming in the river. The day was spent mainly with our feet up, some evening drinks and a few games of 500.
